Use Helix to record your patients' medical details and consultations.
- Health Summary
  Information entered by a practitioner during a consult is added to a patient's Health Summary.
- Consultations
  Record details of a clinical consultation in the Consult panel of the patient's record.
- Patient Timeline
  A summary of the patient's clinical history is displayed in the Patient Timeline.
- Conditions
  Add a condition to a patient's record from a predefined set of conditions.
- Add Family History
  A patient may inform a practitioner about a family medical condition which can be recorded in Helix.
- Add Social History
  Record a patient's occupation, marital status and sexuality as social history in Helix.

  A patient's drug allergies can be added to their record.
- Chronic Disease Management
  Use the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) feature to specify care plans, cycle of care for asthma or diabetes, and GP Mental Health Treatment Plans.
- History & Examinations
  Record details of a patient's clinical history in the History section. Record details of today's examination of a patient in the Examination section.
- Immunisations
  Before you administer an immunisation to a patient, check the immunisations that have already been administered on the AIR and the immunisations due.

  - Medications in the Health Summary
    View a summary of current and past medications for the patient in their Health Summary.
  - Add Medication History
    Add current medications to a patient's Health Summary that your patient is taking but which were prescribed elsewhere, such as in hospital or at another service.

    Helix provides prescribing decision support including condition and drug allergy or adverse reaction alerts.

- Record a Visit
  Practitioners can create a visit for a patient, add the patient to the patient queue, and initiate the billing process for all types of visits. Alternatively for previous consults, create a visit and bill the patient.

Medication Precautions

Helix provides prescribing decision support including condition and drug allergy or adverse reaction alerts.

Procedure

Within the patient's record, locate and click Medication Precautions at the top of the window.

Note: If the patient already has one or more precautions recorded, the precautions are listed at the top of their record instead. To edit precautions, select any precaution. For example:
In the Medication Precautions form, set any precautions that you want to be informed about when prescribing for this patient.

Results

If there are any interactions for the precautions you just set, they are displayed immediately.

What to do next

Later, if you attempt to prescribe something the patient may have a reaction to, you will be alerted. Red indicates highest severity, followed by orange, and then yellow.
