Fee Schedules
Maintain the default fee schedule for patient services that are not bulk billed or DVA-related, import updated MBS and DVA fee schedules into your instance of Helix, and create customised fee schedules.
Medicare Benefits Schedule Import
Helix is initially supplied with the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) already loaded. Import updated versions as they become available.

- Configure Centre Billing
  Add your centre's account details, default billing type, default billing items for different scenarios and your Modified Monach Category for Medicarebilling incentive items.
- Fee Schedules
  Maintain the default fee schedule for patient services that are not bulk billed or DVA-related, import updated MBS and DVA fee schedules into your instance of Helix, and create customised fee schedules.
  - Display Fee Schedules
    The fee schedules available at your health service are listed in the Fee Schedules window.
  - Customise Fee Schedules (Override Schedules)
    Create custom fee schedules (or Override Schedules), if you want to charge different fees per-state, per-practice, or even per-user.
  - Add Fees Manually
    Add new fees manually and create multiple fee rates for all the schedules.
  - Edit Fees
    Update the fee rates for existing fee schedules in Fee Schedules panel.
  - Medicare Benefits Schedule Import
    Helix is initially supplied with the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) already loaded. Import updated versions as they become available.
    - Download MBS or DVA File
      Download the MBS or DVA fee updates released periodically by Medicare Online.
    - Import MBS or DVA Fee File
      Import the MBS or DVA fee update file to Helix to update the MBS and DVA fees charged by your health service.
- Banking
  Use the Bank panel to view deposited items and balance your banking records.
- Add Billing Items for a Consult
  If required, clinicians can create or modify the list of items to be billed for the current consult.
- Medicare Claims
  Use Helix to submit a Medicare claim to Services Australia, retransmit an unsuccessful claim, and view the claim results.
- Transaction History
  View the transaction history for individual patients or account holders, and refund and write-off summaries.
- Tyro Integration
  Helix integrates with Tyro and its EFTPOS terminals.
- Workers Compensation
  Process Workers' Compensation claims using Helix
- Receipts
  When payment has been received from an account holder or Services Australia, receipting can be performed for all invoices.
- Generate Financial Reports
  Generate various types of financial reports from the Financial Reports tab.

Download MBS or DVA File

Download the MBS or DVA fee updates released periodically by Medicare Online.

Download the update from MBS Downloads.

Usually a single fee file will contain both MBS and DVA updated fees. However, in some cases this might be two separate files. You will be need to download and import each fee list.
Your practice might have other fees that require updating, or the fee list doesn't update the fees you require. In this case, follow these instructions for updating the bulk of the fees, and then manually update any remaining fees for your practice. For more information, see Fee Schedules.
