Record a Visit
Practitioners can create a visit for a patient, add the patient to the patient queue, and initiate the billing process for all types of visits. Alternatively for previous consults, create a visit and bill the patient.
Visit types include visits bulk billed to Medicare, DVA, private, pre-employment, and workers compensation.
A billing type may be:
- Selected by you when the patient's appointment was first scheduled.
- Based on a patient's demographics. For example, if a patient has a Medicare number recorded, Medicare is selected. For more information about recording a Medicare number, see Create New Patient Records.
- Set by the clinician during the consult. For more information, see Add Billing Items for a Consult.
Tip: You can change the billing type at any
time, provided you have not already issued the invoice.
